Taxes and Spending

By Marilyn C. Brewer

Candidate for United States Representative; District 48

This information is provided by the candidate
Support Existing Tax Cuts | Eliminate the Death Tax | Oppose New Taxes
When citizens retain control of their money, it creates a more robust, stronger economy.

  • I support the current tax cut policies and as a member of Congress will work to make them permanent.
  • I will vote to control spending and balance the budget.
  • In Congress, I will work to eliminate the death tax.
  • In Sacramento, I was a leading advocate for tax relief. Signed into law, my bill, AB 2612 addressed tax equity and saved California taxpayers $41 million over a 5-year period.
  • In addition, I was part of the Assembly leadership team that passed the largest tax cut in California history (1996).

I will take the same tenacity to Washington D.C. and fight on your behalf to cut taxes and keep them down. I signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge against new taxes.
