My experience in child development and K-12 public education started in Long Beach, California as Board President of LULAC-Headstart, and as the Founder/President of the Latino Advisory Committee for the Superintendent of the Long Beach Unified School District. In that capacity, I played a major role in the development of the District's Bilingual Education Master Plan. I was also a part-time instructor at Long Beach City College where I taught "Introduction to American Government." My education includes a Masters Degree in Public Administration. My 20+ years of public service include serving as a Senior Policy Analyst for the San Diego Unified School Board from 1998 to 2001.
