Questions & Answers

1. What are your qualifications for office?

I have served as City Council Member for the past 8 years, 2 years as Vice Mayor. I have served on the Madeira Indian Hill Fire Board, Economic Development Committee, Chairman of the Public Works Committee and on the Budget and Finance Committee. Instrumental in cutting taxes and cut spending by $600,000. The experience in working on these are invaluable and important when considering a candidate.

2. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the City?

Safety is my number one priority - Police and Fire Departments are essential and one of the most important things we provide to our community. Public works, maintaining and improving streets and adding sidewalks through the Safe Walk To School Grant to make Madeira more Assessible and more "walkable" to Downtown/Central Business District. Parks and Recreation are extremely important to a more liveable and enjoyable community - I have been instrumental both on Council and running Madeira Youth Soccer (past 10+ years) to make sure our Parks are a great asset to Madeira.

3. How would you balance the City Budget?

I have been on the Budget and Finance Committee and voted the last 3 times to CUT Taxes and have reduced the Budget by over 10 percent while increasings revenues. My Goal is not to increase taxes while maintaining essential services and keeping a balance budget.

4. Citizen engagement is important to the health of local government. In what ways do you support citizen engagement?

While on council, we have had forums and open city council meetings where citizens have a chance to address counsel. It is important to engage, listen, and consider Madeira residents thoughts and encourage them to participate and understand the local issues within Madeira.
