Raymond J. Santarelli is the Springfield Township Democratic Committee's Candidate for Fifth Ward Commissioner in 2011. Ray has resided in Springfield for over a decade with his wife Loretta and four sons, Anthony, Matthew, Dominic and Gregory.

Since 1996, Ray has worked as an attorney with the regional law firm, Elliott Greenleaf. Ray is a Firm shareholder and serves on the Firm's Hiring Committee. With Elliott Greenleaf, Ray represents and counsels clients in complex commercial litigations, and also represents employees and employers in employment disputes and litigation relating to wrongful discharge, employment discrimination under Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and, various tort actions. Other areas of his law practice include medical malpractice, insurance disputes, workers' compensation, municipal law, eminent domain proceedings, zoning and land-use. Before joining Elliott Greenleaf, Ray served as a law clerk to the President Judge of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, which Court focuses on state and local government and administrative agency matters.

Ray also has substantial experience in local government, serving as a municipal solicitor, assisting and counseling units of local government in labor and contract negotiations, municipal finance, employment matters, civil rights issues, land use, and ordinance preparation, and representing municipalities and other governmental entities in litigation relating to employment matters, civil rights and land use issues.

In addition to his law practice, Ray presently serves the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as a Hearing Committee Member. Ray is also an appointed member of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Joint State Government Commission's Advisory Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR"). Ray serves in these positions on a voluntary, unpaid basis.

A graduate of Saint Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia, Ray received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Villanova University, and his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law, Delaware Campus. He is admitted to practice law before the state courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the United States District Court for Eastern District of Arkansas, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Ray is a member of the Philadelphia, Delaware County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
