Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Casey W. Raskob, Esq.

Candidate for
Member, Board of Trustees; Village of Croton-On-Hudson

This information is provided by the candidate

I have been an attorney for the last twenty years, and in that time have appeared in almost every Court between Albany and Montauk. I did extensive land use work in Newark, NJ at one stage of my Career, and am currently practicing traffic law, criminal law and real estate. My experiences with government are substantial and comprehensive. I've seen how State Mandates trickle down to the folks who have to pay for them, and how the various layers of government interrelate.

Croton is a unique place. The history of Croton and the daily life of Croton is mostly self contained due to our geography. The Village Government is responsive to the residents and services are well provided. While there are many ways to share things like procurement and external services, I would not be inclined to merge Croton with other municipalities. I feel that the Village taxes are the only ones with actually provide value to me.

I would not seek radical change. Our services run well here. We are a small Village where you tend to know your neighbors, and most problems are addressed in a timely manner. While that is not a change, work is needed to keep it a constant.
