Lentz Plans for Jobs and the Economy

The American economy is growing again. As we look to the future, we must turn this growth into new and better jobs for American workers. No issue will be more imperative in 2010--Congress must create economic conditions that foster business growth, promote job creation and ultimately eliminate our federal deficit.

My economic development plan is based on this central tenet: that creating jobs for hard-working middle class Americans is the best way to get our nation back on track.

To accomplish this, Congress must work to stabilize our economy, reduce unemployment and change the fundamental conditions of our financial system that led to this economic collapse. That is why my plan focuses on job creation, erasing the deficit, adapting to a changing economy, and increasing accountability for Wall Street firms and big banks.

My Economic Development Plan:

  • Creating Jobs through a Capital Investment Tax Credit
  • Establishing a Fiscal Commission to Develop a Clear Plan to Erase the Deficit and Stabilize Social Security and Medicare
  • Adapting to a Changing Economy with Education and Training
  • Taking Advantage of New Economic Opportunities in Green Energy, Information Technologies, and Infrastructure Development
  • Holding Wall Street Accountable and creating a Consumer Financial Protection Agency

Lower Healthcare Costs and Improve Quality

As a husband and father, Bryan understands the critical importance of quality, affordable healthcare for every American. Though we spend more on healthcare than any other nation, our healthcare costs continue to skyrocket. These rising costs are unsustainable, and they are already crippling small businesses and making it almost impossible for hardworking families to make ends meet.

Bryan will fight to ensure that every American who wants to keep their current doctor and insurance can, and he will fight the insurance companies to stop discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions. Bryan will stand up to the special interests and eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in the system to bring down costs and ensure that all Americans have access to affordable healthcare.

Investing in Renewable Energy

Our brave men and women in uniform risk everything to preserve our freedom while we continue to put our national security at risk with our dangerous dependence on foreign oil. As a veteran of the Iraq War and a former Army Airborne Ranger, Bryan understands that energy independence is a major key to strengthening our national security. He will fight for alternatives to combat high gas and home heating prices and for a national commitment to the development of renewable energy, green technology and energy independence. Bryan will also work to provide tax cuts to companies that take advantage of innovative renewable energy technologies like wind, solar and geothermal. He knows that these industries will create the good-paying American jobs of the future and strengthen our national security.
