Who is really protecting RPV's Open Space?

By Jeff Lewis

Candidate for Council Member; City of Rancho Palos Verdes

This information is provided by the candidate
Every candidate for Rancho Palos Verdes City Council has indicated on their website and brochure that they will support our city's open space. However, what do those words really mean? Before placing your vote on November 3, I would urge you to ask each candidate what have they done to preserve our city's open space. For my part:

  • I am the only candidate who stood up to a real estate developer and voted against a 22 unit condominium project on Highridge.
  • I am the only candidate who voted against approving eight years of construction by *Marymount college and I also voted to oppose the construction of student dormitories in a residential zoned neighborhood.
  • I am the only candidate who advocates the use of a Floor Area Ratio ("FAR") as an additional planning tool to prevent overdevelopment in our neighborhood.
  • I was a vocal opponent of the construction of a CVS pharmacy in a residential zoned neighborhood.
