While I was a professor of Engineering at Drexel University, I:

 in
 2007‐2008 
by 
initiating
 a

 freshman engineering
 program. This 
program 
focused 
on 
teamwork 
skills, 
technical
 writing,
 and
 the
 incorporation
 of 
environmental 
sustainability 
in
 engineering
 design.


  • Spearheaded
 a pilot
 program
 to 
link
 freshman 
engineering
 design 
projects
 to 
community 
service. 
Students 
helped
 weatherize 
more 
than 
20 
low‐income 
homes 
and 
designed
 environmental
 awareness 
training
 materials.


  • Improved 
quality 
and 
consistency
 of 
course 
presentation 
by 
instituting
 and 
leading 
instructor 
training 
sessions 
for 
the 
faculty

graduate

Researcher

While I was an assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and an associate director of the Center for Catalytic Science and Technology at the University of Delaware, I:

  • Designed and conducted externally funded research both independently and in collaboration with other faculty and industrial partners. These efforts resulted in an issued patent.
  • Recruited graduate students and supervised their research projects. These projects ranged from finding more energy efficient chemical processes to making better photovoltaic cells (solar panels).
  • Published more than 20 technical articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Presented research extensively to industry and at national and international professional meetings.

Community Leader

I have lived in Nether Providence since the summer of 2000. During that time I have been a member of:

  • Nether Providence Recycling Task Force
  • Nether Providence Communications Committee
  • Delaware County Board of Elections
