Mayor; City of Saint Louis Voter Information

4 Year Term.

The mayor, as the city executive, appoints a large number of officials. Although the mayor appoints the assessor, it is that office's only point of control over the financial offices. All remaining financial offices are independent, elective state offices. Thus, the mayor is denied important fiscal control.
