Revitalization

Gardena has many issues in regards to revitalization and redevelopment. As Councilmember it will be my priority to increase the tax-base of Gardena by attracting new businesses and to keep current businesses in Gardena.

No Eminent Domain! I will not support development that requires the City of Gardena to use Eminent Domain. As a resident of Gardena I take pride in knowing that our citizens are safe from irresponsible development and growth.

New Strategic Partnerships: I want to aggressively attract new businesses to Gardena to partner with the City in not only bringing new business to Gardena but to ensure that Gardena residents are employed by these businesses.I will also work to make sure the City maintains good relationships to ensure that these businesses remain part of the community. New Innovative Incentives: No longer are businesses looking for simply tax breaks and as Councilmember I want to create new, exciting incentives that will have businesses attracted to Gardena for life.

Empowerment

As Councilmember I want to empower residents by discussing neighborhood and quality of life issues, redevelopment, education and other issues. My goal is to allow the residents of Gardena to advise their Councilmember and to give influence over the direction in which Gardena heads.

Create Advisory Committees that have real input on issues allowing residents to have a direct channel to the Councilmember, thus increasing the responsiveness of the Council as whole.

Create an open door policy with residents so that people can meet with the Councilmember anytime they have a complaint, concern or idea.

Youth Engagement

The youth are the future of Gardena and my goal as Councilmember is to make sure they have every opportunity to be the best and brightest. By enriching the lives of the youth, Gardena will grow exponentially and ultimately become "The Crown Jewel of the South Bay".

As Councilmember I want to use Quimby money to build skateparks and other outdoor activities for the youth giving them places to gather and engage in positive activities

I want to increase and update afterschool and summer programs to help improve academic performance in Gardena's schools.
