In addition to bringing some balance to Township Council, I have many skills and experience which will contribute significantly to the Council. I am a Registered Professional Engineer, and I have a Master's Degree in Engineering. I worked for five years for the Philadelphia Health Department as a Public Health Engineer specializing in air pollution. After that I worked 30 years for the Environmental Protection Agency, the first ten as an Environmental Engineer and the following 20 as a Health Physicist (that's a person responsible for radiation safety.) In this latter role, I had to deal with many broad and unusual environmental problems. I retired from EPA in 2002.

My duties with Philadelphia City Government and EPA have included many diverse responsibilities. I have been involved with Superfund sites, emergency response, counter-terrorism, air pollution, public health and many aspects of government operations and regulations. I was one of the "continuity of government" team members responsible for ensuring that Federal government services remain available in the event of a crippling disaster. I feel I was a part of what made government good.

One area where government bears special responsibility to the public is contracting. Governments have a duty to get the best product at the lowest price because they are spending the people's money. I have specific experience in government contracts. I have run two major contracts, one with the City, the other with EPA, beginning with the basic conceptual design, through writing specifications, evaluating proposals, and supervising the work to completion. Because of the scope of these contracts, each took several years to complete. This experience will be of value to the citizens of Middletown Township. In summary, I offer not only an opportunity to balance the Township Council, but I bring a wealth of experience from both municipal and federal government.
