Tax information and budget considerations
Like everyone else, albeit on a larger scale, Garnet Valley faces the problems we all have in respect to health insurance, energy prices and salaries. While I have not recently been involved in our budget process, our district has had to deal with soaring health insurance premiums, rising fuel and energy prices, as well as teacher and support staff wages. While we have averaged increases of about 3 percent in my 6 years as a director, a large percentage of those increases are due to those 3 items alone.

When one takes into consideration all of the growth in our disctrict, we are still one of the fastest growing Districts if not the fastest growing one, in the state of Pennsylvania in the time I have been a director. In my time as a director, we have built 2 brand new schools, Bethel Springs and Concord Elementary schools, as well as adding addtions to the High School and Middle School. It is my belief that given our unique circumstances, this our School board and administration have done a fantastic job in holding the line on taxes while still Keeping GV as one of the finest educational districts in our state.
