The knowledge and experience I have gained by serving in the second District as Mayor and Councilman in the City of Stanton for the past 16 years will help me in solving the serious issues that confront Orange County government.

If elected, I will:

• Enforce the laws on illegal immigration. We must stop the negative financial impact it has on the County of Orange. We need immigration reform to improve the existing system.

• Preserve our coastal ecosystem and protect the quality of life in our beach communities. I support a better secondary treatment of the outfall to our oceans. Coastal wetlands and inland bays must be maintained in pristine condition.

• Continue to support a regional approach to Fire and Police services. The Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange County Sheriff's Department must work with local agencies for public health and safety.

• Support changes that will improve our educational system. As a teacher/coach for the last 36 years, I know more local control with accountability equals better results.

• Continue to erase the negatives of the County bankruptcy and solidify the county's financial future. We must use our investment profits to pay off our deficit now!

• Work for business retention as a key essential to the survival and financial stability of Orange County. We must encourage large and individual business owners. Stop making it hard to do business in Orange County!

• Continue to improve and complete infrastructure projects funded by "Measure M" throughout the county. The continuing success of the entire region depends upon the upgrade of our freeway system.

• Embrace new technology to help solve the problems of bio-solids and overflowing landfills. As a former member of the Orange County Solid Waste Management Board, I know that renewable energy is a practical and necessary solution to providing the energy we need for the future while reducing our growing mountains of garbage and waste.

• Support the workers of Orange County so they can continue to provide the excellent level of service the citizens of our communities expect.

• Work for what is best for Orange County and never forget what is best for the people of each individual community.

• Represent you whether you are rich or poor. I will represent the diverse cultures equally and fairly throughout the County of Orange, treating each individual with the level of respect and dignity they rightfully deserve.
