Accomplishments & Goals

By Chris Norby

Candidate for Supervisor; County of Orange; Supervisorial District 4

My Record / My Promise
My first term as your Supervisor has seen Orange County government become more accountable with improved services to the Fourth District cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra and Placentia.

I've worked with my colleagues to refinance debt left from the 1994 county bankruptcy, saving $471 million in future interest payments. I was a leader to defeat Measure D, a special interest attempt to raid OC public safety funds. I supported modernizing Orange County's voting system and oppose costly and divisive multilingual ballot requirements.

I led the fight against the Project Labor Agreement, which cost taxpayers millions by excluding non-unionized firms and workers for county contracts. I've supported protections for small property owners against eminent domain abuse. Eminent domain must never be used for private enrichment. I've voted against new taxes, including the new departure tax at Orange County Airport.

North Orange Countians are seeing real returns on their tax dollars. Over $282 million in transportation funds have gone to upgrade streets in Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra and Placentia. I've supported extending the Orange (57) Freeway south to the San Diego (405) Freeway, modernizing traffic signals and other congestion relief measures.

I led efforts to redirect $532 million away from a proposed Santa Ana trolley and into improvements to Metrolink, including new stations at Placentia and Buena Park and upgrades at existing Fullerton and Anaheim rail depots.

I've worked hard for equal park funding for North Orange County. La Habra received $4.9 million to restore Vista Grande Park. The new Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim just opened on land provided by the OC Flood Control District.

We've come a long way, but much remains to be done. I will continue the transportation improvements vital to our mobility and prosperity. I will work closely with the District Attorney and Sheriff to further reduce crime and control gangs. I will work to improve disaster preparedness for both natural and terrorist threats.

Call me any time at 714-871-9756. I've worked hard to be accountable to you. I ask for your vote on June 6th.
