Garry Willis has been a member of the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee for nearly four years and he has been faithful to the ideals and values of our political party. Few other AD's in Los Angeles County can claim the diversity of our citizens or the depth of our cultural experience in the 43rd Assembly District. Moving to the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles has awakened Garry Willis' political awareness, and as an activist, he has met many of our constituents at Democratic Party headquarters located here. Moreover, he has met many other voters in Burbank, Glendale, LA, and North Hollywood, personally, while walking from neighbor to neighbor during political campaigns since 1994.

Almost immediately after moving to Silver Lake, Garry joined our local Democratic club, Democrats for Neighborhood Action. He quickly took over the task of publishing the quarterly newsletter for DNA, and then was elected club treasurer, and finally DNA vice- president. Garry is especially proud of registering scores of new voters here, and introducing many new United States citizens to the privilege of voting. Garry enjoyed circulating voter registration forms amongst stakeholders at the annual Sunset junction street fairs and Fourth of July celebrations.

Garry Willis was elected to the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee in the spring of 2000, and re-elected with the most votes in our state assembly district at the start of this term. He was twice chosen as chair of the 43rd Assembly District delegation representing Glendale, Burbank and parts of North Hollywood and Los Angeles.

Garry Willis felt privileged to participate in several of the organization meetings that were held here to help form the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, and is currently an elected member of the non-partisan Silver Lake Neighborhood Council Governing Board.
