  • Jose is an ideal candidate to replace DOUGLAS REINHART, who has resigned from the electoral race and has asked citizens not to vote for him (O.C. Register - Saddleback Valley News, September 29, 2000).

  • Jose Vergara is a Civil Engineer with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. He possesses a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. A resident of Lake Forest for the last 14 years, Jose will complete his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Loyola Marymount University by December 2000. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in California.

  • Jose has been a member of the California Society of Professional Engineers, and served as president of the Orange County Chapter in 1992. He is also been a member of the American Water Works Association, and has participated in the Groundwater Well and Water Management Committees.

  • Jose has been active in the community. He participated in the Saddleback School District Bilingual Committee and currently participates in different activities of the Kiwanis of Lake Forest with his wife Pilar and their children Jose David and Melissa.

  • He is a member of the Shriners Speaker Bureau and a De Molay Advisor.

  • His son Jose David joined the US Air Force in Colorado Springs, and Melissa attends Trabuco Hills High School.

  • Among his hobbies, Jose enjoys painting watercolors and playing classical guitar.
